In 1979 she became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. She practiced in Kensington and Chelsea for the next ten years. Here she acquired an excellent and detailed working knowledge of the best medical resources in London in all fields of traditional and complementary medicine, establishing an extensive network for specialist referrals.

She is also a psychotherapist, International Spa consultant and a regular contributor to several leading magazines and newspapers on health matters.

In addition she is an active committee member of several Royal Colleges, the British Medical Association and the Independent Doctors Forum, advisor to the General Medical Council and a Member of the Women of the Year Association.
